Discountau.com editor’s recommendation: GoPro has upped the Hero 9 Black’s overall shooting resolution to capture 20-megapixel stills, compared to the 12-megapixel previous model, and offers 5K video capture. The removable 1720mAh battery is 40% larger than the one on the Hero 8 Black. Also improved are the screens, the front display is now a 1.4-inch full-color screen for preview shots, and the rear display is a larger 2.27-inch touchscreen, a relatively new improvement.
On the software side, the Hero 9 Black supports the new HyperSmooth 3.0 image stabilization, and the powerful Boost mode already supports all frame rates and resolutions. There’s also an in-camera horizon panning feature, which corrects skewed horizon lines in video, and a TimeWarp 3.0 hyper-lapse mode.
